I do not offer free consultation phone calls. Below you will find information to help you determine if I would be a good fit for you. If you would like to proceed with scheduling an appointment, please click on “Schedule an appointment”. In this initial appointment we will discuss your history with depression, explore treatment options, and assess if I am a good fit for you. If we determine that I am not a good fit for you, I will assist in finding an available therapist who may be a better fit.

The person who will be doing the most work is you. My role as the therapist is minor, I can provide a lot of education, techniques, encouragement, assistance, and guidance. However, time spent in therapy sessions is a small component of “the work”.

I work best with individuals who are motivated, have a willingness to practice self-awareness, are open to learning to sit with their emotions, and who have an internal locus of control (a belief that a person has the power to influence their own life rather than believing it is up to fate or luck).

The basis of my approach is acceptance; we accept that as humans we experience a range of emotional and mental states. Rather than aim to eliminate the depression completely, we work on accepting that you may continue to experience depression. Even if you feel you are unable to accept that, what is important is you are willing to explore that possibility. If you are completely against this acceptance, I will not be a good fit for you.

Providing a safe space is a priority. I welcome queer, BIPOC, ethically non-monogamous/polyamorous, kinky, artistic, neurodivergent individuals.
